Wrapping up 2007...

Wow. The end of another year is upon us. And what an interesting year it has been; we captured many wonderful images, made a lot of terrific new friends, and witnessed some spectacular sunrises and sunsets in unbelievably exotic locations. 2008 will have to be pretty darn special to match 2007...

We'll start the New Year off with energy, for sure. We have a wonderful wedding for the sister of one of our previous brides in early January. Her Groom-to-be is a serviceman just recently home from an extended tour in Iraq and we're sure the emotions will be running high. We had to reschedule their event several times due to changing military demands, but no worries; we can't wait to shoot this one...

I'm also back on the road for some corporate work in NorCal and then it's back to the roadie life for us. The Digital Photography Edge Tour wraps up with January visits to Newport Beach, North Hollywood, San Francisco, and finally, Phoenix in early February. Come see us if you can! Registration details can be found at:

Late winter will find us producing more ELDS lighting tutorials, Mama Maura's Actions, and Lovely Little Gadgets to make the photographer's life more fun and productive.

I also intend to do my own take on the nuance of digital painting and we're well into our plans to offer an extended form of "hands-on" lighting instruction. Keep visiting our little blog for more announcements on these and other subjects...

And speaking of the blog; Maura and Paulie have been busily redesigning the site so our little narrative can offer easier and more frequent postings. Our web store will be expanding as well; we've found a number of very interesting items that we will be adding to our inventory in the coming months. Of particular interest are several new items that will compliment the modular "Slipper" family. I just loves inventin' them little gadgets...

Adventure should continue this year. I have tentative plans to get back to Africa in the summer and our Jackson Hole pilgrimage will soon get a firm date. This year's trips will be hard to match, but heck; we say that at the end of every year. I'm behind in my processing but will post some Wyoming images very soon...

Video will definitely get some of our attention this year. I smell a convergence of technologies on the winds and see motion capture as a big part of all of our futures. I predict that the market for HD stock footage will become a viable pursuit. We've been using the tidy little Canon HV20 HD camcorders to get our feet wet again but I can't wait to see what gets introduced at CES and NAB. Big changes are afoot and the prices are coming down to reasonable levels...

I think I'll be dusting off my cinematography skill-sets and wading back into the fray. As one who has had cinema footage generating income through Getty Images for some time, I feel I may have some good advice and instruction to offer those with similar interests...

All-in-all, I wouldn't dare to predict what excitement we'll be witnessing this year. I can promise, though, that we'll continue to do our very best to capture these exciting events and memories as they unfold before us, whatever the medium of the moment.

Our warmest holiday wishes go out to all who have touched our lives this year and we wish you all a prosperous and healthy New Year.

Bruce, the Maura, and that Cinnabon-Stealin' Paulie
