The iDC Quick Release U-Boat cage offers a lightweight and elegant solution for the smaller form factor that the new HDSLR cameras offer while also accommodating other video capture cameras and accessories. The 1/4-20 mounting options on the bottom of the baseplate allow you to mount this cage on a tripod or monopod.

The "Quick Release" terminology means that your camera and your iDC Accessories (iDC Viewfinder, the iDC Follow-Focus, and the iDC Follow-Focus XL) can remain assembled as a unit and can be quickly mounted or dismounted from the U-Boat Video Cage. This approach allows flexibility in your shooting styles as the demands of your work occur.

The U-Boat is offered as a full cage solution with an add-on option for an adjustable-length shoulder brace for hand-held shooting, or for use as a pan-handle once mounted to your tripod. The shoulder brace is mountable on either the right or left side of the U-Boat cage.

All U-Boat Kits quickly disassemble for very compact packing. Made in the USA with quality materials and attention to detail.

iDC Cold Shoes Options:

Optional Cold Shoe(s) may be attached to the Top Bridge Plate to accommodate shoe-mounted accessories such as video lights, microphones, or external monitors. By adding three additional Grip Handles you can create a lower handle threesome group to create a rudimentary table top tripod.
